Peoples Water Service Company was formed May 24, 1937.  The original water facility provided service to approximately 200 customers.  The system had only one well at that time which produced 250 gallons per minute.  Water was treated with chlorine for disinfecting and hydrated lime for pH adjustment.  Once the process was completed water was stored in a 60,000 gallon elevated storage tank.

Since 1937, vast improvements have been made.  We now provide service to over 30,000 customers.  The system has five wells with a designed pumping capacity of 7.4 million gallons per day.  We have three ground storage facilities and one elevated storage facility with a storage capacity of 2.9 million gallons.  Our goals since the beginning have been to provide a safe and pleasant drinking water, commitment to teamwork, dedication, and to be recognized as an industry leader.
